Tacos and lucha libre collide in Downtown Dallas at The Shed on April 29. Starting at 3pm, locals and visitors alike will have the chance to taste through 24 taquerias taco offerings while listening to live music performances and cheering on their favorite luchadores at Taco Libre Fest. Here are five reasons to check it out.

1. Live music

Nominated as “Best Latin Band” by the Dallas Observer for four consecutive years, the Dallas natives, SuperSonic Lips will be performing live at the festival. The Dallas band will also be joined by additional music groups including Pinata Protest, Los Skarnales and Jenny and the Mexicats. There will also be a closing set by DJ Christy Ray.

2. Two Dollar Tacos

Some of the city’s best taquerias will be serving up tacos at Taco Libre Dallas. And lucky for your tastebuds, and your wallet, they are all two bucks. 24 participating taquerias will be in attendance including Urban Taco, OMG Tacos, El Come Taco, Trompo, El Tiz, Taco Heads and Resident Taqueria.

3. Family-friendliness

The taco-centric event is family-friendly, so bring the entire gang on down to The Shed at Dallas Farmer’s Market. Children five years and younger are free. And admission for kids ages six to 12 is just $10.

4. Legendary Lucha Libre

Luchadores will battle it out in the ring for all to see. There will be two top contenders that everyone will be watching, La Park and Aski, the Mayan Warrior. These two wrestlers will be joined by over half-a-dozen additional luchadores at the event.

5. Did we mention tacos?

There’s no better time or place to try the region’s best tacos. You’ll have access to over two dozen of Dallas’ best taco shops. There will be a range of offerings, from traditional to contemporary. Taste them all for yourself.

Tickets can be purchased online for $16. It will cost you $22 at the gate.
