Spring has sprung! That means our days are longer. Now, what to do with all of that extra daylight? We’ve got some suggestions. Here are the top spring events happening around Dallas.

 

1. Dallas International Film Festival

When: March 30 – April 9
Where: 110 Leslie St

Across the span of this 11-day event, Texas film-buffs can see documentaries and best narrative features. A full schedule of events and admission information can be found on the Dallas Film Society website.

 

2. Big Texas Beer Fest

When: March 31 – April 1
Where: 1300 Robert B Cullum Blvd.

Last year’s festival features 120 different breweries and over 500 beers. This year’s Big Texas Beer Fest is predicted to be, well, even bigger. The craft beer festival is in its sixth year and will feature special beers like rare and on-off brews. There will be live music and a gang of food trucks at the event. Tickets for the Big Texas Beer Fest range from $35 to $65 per day.

 

3. Dallas Art Fair

When: April 7 – 9
Where: 1807 Ross Ave

The 2017 Dallas Art Fair will feature national and international art dealers and a number of galleries featuring sculpture, photography, video, works on paper, installations as well as contemporary artists. The art fair takes place at the Fashion Industry Gallery, nearby the Dallas Museum of Art. Ticket information can be found on the Dallas Art Fair website.

 

4. Ennis Bluebonnet Trails Festival

When: April 7 – 9
Where: 2 Ennis Ave, Ennis

Ennis is home to the Official Texas Bluebonnet trail and is designated as the Official Bluebonnet City of Texas. This spring, April 1 through 30, Ennis showcases 40 miles of mapped driving routes where visitors can experience the beautiful wildflower show. The Ennis Bluebonnet Trails Festival will feature wine sampling, live music and arts and crafts. Tickets can be purchased via Eventbrite.

 

5. Savor Dallas

When: April 6 – 9
Where: Multiple locations

Celebrating all things food, wine spirits and Texas culture, Savor Dallas is the city’s premier culinary event. There will be more than 75 restaurants and chefs from around the region, 450 wines and over 70 spirits. The multi-day culinary celebration will feature a variety of different events to open and close out the festival. Individual event ticket pricing can be found on the Savor Dallas webpage.

 

6. Earth Day TX

When: April 21 – 23
Where: Multiple locations

Celebrate Mother Earth with Earth Day TX. The multi-day celebrating will feature events across the city. Visit the website for additional details.

 

7. Plano Art Fest

When: April 22 – 23
Where: 998 E 15th St, Plano

This family-friendly festival happening in Plano will feature art from local artists, live music, local craftsmen and makers, performances and more. The free event will also showcase a youth artist’s learning lab, a film screening and a opportunities for families to make their own art with chalk.

 

8. Dallas Book Festival

When: April 29
Where: 1515 Young St

The fourth annual Dallas Book Festival will be held at the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library. The book-centric event will showcase works by internationally-acclaimed authors in addition to regional, national and local authors that represent regions from across the globe.

 

9. Artscape

When: April 29 – 30
Where: 8525 Garland Rd

The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is hosting its annual fine art show, Artscape, on April 29 and 30. The event will feature 103 artist tents which will be displaying a wide-range of artworks, from sculpture to photography. Ticket information can be found on the Dallas Arboretum site.  

 

10. Texas Scottish Festival

When: May 5 – 7
Where: 1307 W Mitchell, Arlington

Celebrate all things Scottish at the Texas Scottish Festival, happening in Arlington, from May 5 to 7. There will be traditional games, dancers, live music, food and plenty of fun to be had. Ticketing information can be found online.
